Petmate sent me this bed for my own dogs to test, but they are notorious for turning up their noses at soft beds and lying on the floor instead. I passed it on to my neighbor so his sleek Whippet mix could give it a test nap or two.
Onyx has loads of pet beds scattered throughout his house, but his owner, Tim, reports that Petmate’s Deluxe Pillow Bed is his favorite. He lies on it all day long, enjoying the view out the window.
The terrycloth cover is machine washable. It’s also treated with Microban to help prevent the growth of stain- and odor-causing bacteria. The antimicrobial protection doesn’t wash away, the manufacturer says. Tim reports that he hasn’t noticed any odor. Onyx is bathed every one to two weeks, but the bed hasn’t had to be washed yet, he says. “It doesn’t seem to be getting dirty.”
